Took the CS out for a 200 mile run around Cannock Chase and surrounds yesterday. The battery had been keeping the clock ticking for a few weeks since last out. It is a struggle but I have now learned to push her off the stand with the handlebars then get on. Anyway the battery turned her over and got her going, but I could tell it was close run thing. This morning I took it out to charge it, thanks to a neighbour who could lift it! I couldn't lift the bloody thing out of the battery box, it must weigh 20lbs or more! Anyone come up with a solution to make it easy to lift out? I have wondered about a couple of tapes or something to act as a lifting handle under neath it.

Some of the modern alternative battery types are way lighter than lead acid so that may be an option... but I believe they can suffer in cold weather and I've always liked the comfort of a big powerful MotoBatt to thump an airhead into life.

But what a great ride that must have been - 200 miles on a CS under clear blue early winter skies. Fabulous, well done for getting out and enjoying it.
