Been out for a test ride and pretty sure am gonna go for a new GSA.

Not that keen on the three brochure colours.

But have seen a post with an image of a GSA in Thunder Grey. Have pm'ed jtb who I believe got one, but wondered if anyone else has explored/understands if other colour options are available?

No other colours are available! Someone, and more specifically - jtb - has done a bespoke colour job, which is not outside the realms of possibility given there are only 2 panels to be painted. If this is the road you want to go down, just don't buy blue, because you're going to have a blue saddle with your grey paint.

Yep, I had the panels painted at my dealer before I took delivery. I just wanted a dark grey one, I only picked Thunder Grey because it is an existing GS colour, so shouldn't be massively controversial at resale (I hope...). Incidentally there are three panels, not two - and what sijohnston says about the seat colour is correct - I ordered a white one, so the seat would look right once the bike had been painted. The only slight issue with a predelivery repaint is that the bike gets registered in the 'built' colour ie white in my case, so the V5 had to go off again as soon as it arrived.

If you vinyl wrap the vehicle, as opposed to permanently changing its colour by painting, you can:

(A) Avoid any concerns about it being anything other than a genuine BMW (correct for year / model) at sale time

(B) Avoid the (limited) effort of advising Swansea of the colour change

(C) Change its colour again when your mood / the wind changes, whichever the sooner

(D) Protect and maintain that all important showroom sheen to your awesome steed

I'm liking the olive green more and more I see it there's one that passes me at aldgate everyday. +1 wapping makes sense.

Thanks for thoughts chaps - very good idea Wapping - still mulling over if I go for one but a very good point could go for the least offensive colour to me and if it really bothers me then get the wrapping done.

Anyone got any ideas how much to get the 3 panels "wrapped"? - know what it is but no idea on what the boys with stretchy wrap and hairdryers charge.

According to the vehicle wrap place that I took the panels to before deciding to get them painted, the curves in the panels are too sharp to wrap without cutting the film, and you end up with something that looks a bit sub par. So painting really is the only option if you want a nice finish.

Coopers at Sunderland were offering different colour option for £300.
They had a very nice Orange GSWC in the showroom earlier this month and a custom old school looking Orange/Silver R9T as well.

Black seat

What make of seat is that on the black bike please.

Neat idea, nice bit of thinking there Wapping!

Bit belated, sorry - finally took some pics of the bike today. Thunder Grey, no decals, Givi universal monokey adaptor plate, and rear footpeg hangers from the GS so I can use my varios instead of the ally boxes.
