I have heard that doing so eliminates much of the buffeting, I wonder if thats so, seems a drastic action to take should it not work. I have tobinators fitted 1150 gs but in spite of all the hype I am not that impressed.

I know this subject get lots of stick but thats for good reason I reckon, so will lopping the top off work, anyone with pictures would be very welcome indeed.

I feel a poll coming on...

Yup, I lopped off the top, and with the screen (non-tobinated) in it's farthest back (laying flat) position you get a nice laminar flow of air up and over the screen with no turbulance.

Highly effective and little cost (time).

When you've cut it off, file down the rough edges with progressively finer files - then use emery paper and finally finish off with Autosol or some other metal polish.

Don't be tempted to polish any of the screen you absolutely don't have to - as it won't ever go completely clear - but damn close.

Cheers,
Finbarr

I am 6'2" and put the standard screen on its high setting and cut 40mm off the top. Steady air flow but a lot less air buffeting.

Hi Satnav - email me and maybe I can give you a hand with the setup.
