Hi guys
First off - the standard screen on the 1200. Lots of buffeting and noise. I bought a Laminar Lip (easy - i live in the US now) - did not really solve the problem. Adjusted it all ways. No go. Finally got pissed off and took off the screen entirely and put on one of nippy normans little fly-screen things. No buffeting. Just constant wind hitting upper chest. Bearable. BUT. BUT. BUT. i frikkin hate how it looks on the bike. Totally changes the bikes 'balance'. HATE IT.
So - here's my question #1 (at last) - has anyone tried drilling holes in the base of the standard screen to allow airflow into the void between rider/screen to help balance the pressure? Surely tobinators help with this effect? I also have one of those clear headlamp protectors fitted (previous owner) and reckon the anti-glare/reflection rubber seal along the top edge also exacerbates this issue? So anyone drilled any holes? did it help?
Question #2 - anyone removed the exhaust can from a 1200 and just replaced with a length of stubby pipe?? some folks have done this on 1150's but not seen any reports regarding a 1200?? I just want some more throaty noise really....?
That's all folks.
Thanks
