I've been working on a new website for my local IAM motorcycle group for several months - we want to attract more younger riders who I suspect don't appreciate the value of the 'training' and have a preconception of IAM'ers that puts them off.

What d'ya reckon?

By the way CVAM covers a wide area, Bristol to Bridgwater, Weston to Wells and beyond............and of course any 'older' riders welcome also! :-)

LOL

No other comments/feedback............it's a work in progress so comments will be helpful and appreciated :)

Great idea

Andy,

This is a great idea. The only comment is that the pictures at the top have a lot of old people in. Have you any pics with teenages and mopeds ?

Personally I prefer black or grey text on a light coloured background. The black background can be gloomy.

Good website, but you mention about attracting more "younger" riders, when I opened the gallery all I see is older members, this is a viscous circle I know and I don't know what you can do about this.

I have to say though that the one thing that put me off being a member of my local IAM group was one or two finger wagging, tutting, members. Otherwise the group was superb and they did have a lot of younger members, both as members and observers etc.

One thing that helped was going to promotion events such as Poole Quay and not having a beard, a BMW or a yellow jacket on view. The stand was covered in cruisers, sports, and adventure bikes and got people talking.:thumb

Thanks guys, yeah the header images need looking at I'll have to ask around to see if anyone in the group has better ones.

Re the black background, I agree, I much prefer clean cut 'magazine' type layouts but apparently the design should appeal to 'yoofs' :-)

Same as above with the Gallery images......just what I could lay my hands on quick. Still a lot of work to do on the site, early days and I guess it will evolve :-)
