A fist post in the proper cycling section. Thank you @Paul G (BHT) for creating one.
As I have mentioned elsewhere on the forum, I have recently started to cycle to and from work just under 7 miles each way, taking just under an hour to get there and back, so a good bit of cardio workout each day. I am not cut out for a gym (not least as I am to tight to pay a silly amount in monthly membership costs) I do plenty of weight lifting at work as some will know.
Anyhow.
My current commute does include cycling along busy B roads. The state of the roads isn’t silky smooth, far from it. It is representative of a moon surface or a patchwork quilt.
The cycle lanes are barely existent, and if these are, they are just as are foot paths, taken over by farmers hedgerow or over grown with grass.
I cut through a short section of woodland (cycling prohibited) whilst playing ignorance, due to one end of the path having got no signage to indicate this, whilst the other side does have a sign, but it is the size of a beer mat.
I have looked at Google and Apple maps for cycling route suggestions, but these still take me along a busy road or through a field, not exactly ideal on a Brompton with road going tyres.
So the question is, does anybody know of an app that would show all of the existing UK cycling infrastructure (not just in London) and possibly of user added cycling suitable paths/routes?
Thank you.
