Cylinder head gasket

Hi Folks,

1100 GS ; head off inspected head gasket, I cannot find out from

where the oil has been leaking from ? the cylinder head and barrel look in

good nick to me, no obvious root for oil to leak from; the face of the first fin

is covered in burnt on oil, a bit like nicotine ; so it draws me to the conclusion

is pressure being built up and forced through gasket ? does anyone know how

engine emissons are dealt with, could it be blocked and where does it reside.

Hi Steptoe,

Can you help me out here, took the head off cleaned everything

put new head gasket on torqued down all required nuts and bolts.

Reassembled, started up, valves need more ajustment louder than when I

started; got the engine up to normal temperature.

The problem is, on tickover it is constant; then almost stops and picks up

again never did it before any pointers ?
