Cymarc crud catcher

Help.

I'm in the middle of refitting my Cymarc crudcatcher to my new bike but I can't find the instructions which specify the torque setting for the bolts.

Can anybody help. I've tried to contact Mark but he hasn't responded yet ( to be fair only 30mins ago)

I want to get the job finished is I can go for a blast.

Is it that hard to torque them up later, after a blast or few? What could possibly go wrong if wrong torque setting was used?

No it's not. But I asked the question and I had answer within minutes allowing me to do the job properly in the first place.

No Torque settings for a crud catcher, for safety's sake don't ride it. TBH I'd be worried if it needs to come of the main stand! If you can strap the bike to something fixed until you have the correct setting.

TBH joking aside, most Assesorys should be spanner tight and 8nm won't feel very tight. Engine work it's important to torque up and any thing frame/shock/calliper I go a extra grunt over hand tight.

You're probably aware but the plate attaches via the front casing bolts, hence why I wanted the torque setting. 8NM was the lowest setting on my wrench.

Last time I torqued an engine case bolt the thread stripped. There is zero feel so no warning until it's too late.

Agree,Torque wrenching can be overdone. When I was a lad I overtightened a cylinder head bolt on my 1960 Triumph Tiger and sheared the bolt, just before a Sunday ride out My dad, who was an HM Dockyard fitter, got hold of the spanner, (no sockets in them days) and cut it in half with a grinder leaving all the sharp bits. He the said, "use this and when the sharp bits start to hurt the palm of your hand it's tight enough" !! So true, never sheared a bolt again and never had anything come undone.
