guys about to replace my rear d607. very happy with its overall performance but having a problem trying to get a replacement.
i have tried contacting various tyre dealers but none of them are able to supply in a "v" rated as standard fit, it appears you can only get the tyre as an "h" rated in this country. micheldever tyres contacted dunlop to check on availability and were told that they have not been made available in this country! i contacted bmw to see if they could help, they confirmed the lack of availabilty from dunlop and so far have just sudgested replacing with v rated tourance or equivalent. anyone had similar experience with this?

H rating is up to 130mph, I would have thought that's sufficient for the 1200.

I'll check what rating my Dunlops are and report back, I've never had a problem getting hold of them but I didn't ask for a specific speed rating.

I got 'V' rated D607s from BFM in Shipley, they didn't have any problems getting them, although the first set they fitted were 'H' rated even though I ordered 'V' rated ones.

They changed them without any quibbles and apologised for the error. They were also reasonably priced, I paid £155 for the pair, ride in ride out.

Doesn't make sense to me - just had a V rated 607 fitted three weeks ago, here in Nottingham (Twisgrip Motorcycles) :nenau

I got my rear D607 replaced with another v rated one from 2 Wheel Tyres at Great Barr, Birmingham. It did take them a week to get one so could be they are in short supply. Cost was £103 which is not cheap. I like the sound of Parkys 155 a pair but there's got to be some compensation for living in Yorkshire :D :D :D

I have to change my tyres and I hesitate between metzeler tourance and Dunlop. I use my bike on roads, not in the wild :)
What set should I take ? To be honnest, so far I have been very happy with my Tourance...

Rumour has it that if you ride hard the D607s will give you more grip but less miles than the Tourance but a very quick police rider I know says that tourances are good enough for the bike. I think the D607s are pretty good but I'm about to replace them with Michelin Pilot Roads as I only ride on the tarmac and these are supposed to be even better in the wet.

speed rating

I have been told several times if you a spped rating on a car or bike lower than it is capable of you invalidate your insurance. SO be carefull whether you ride at that speed or not!!!!
