Sorry for getting a bit of a serial poster! new toy is my new hobby :thumb

My mirrors shake like a shitting dog above 5000 revs and I wondered if anyone had fitted any alternatives?

The new G650GS ones look like they would fit but curious as to whether they would be any better?

Any advice?

JC

Shake like a shitting dog..
That made me cry and my sides hurt...Wow thats funny, bloddy brill...
Anyhoo the mirrors do shake at about 65mph onwards. Im gonna try some rubber washers and other stuff so I will let you know mate...
"THEY ALL DO THAT SIR".....Tosh

Sorry chap - it's all part of the character of riding a 650 Dak

Anyway, the important stuff is in front of you :P

Thanks fella's, I thought this may be pretty standard ...

Anyone fitted any others?

The reason they shake is the stem is quite thin, find some with a thicker diameter that screw straight in.

Alternatives

Contact Jonno(rudiemoto) at Adventure Bike Warehouse ask him for the folding mirrors. I fitted a set and they are great no vibration and they fold in for trail riding. Only adaption is you will need to retap the thread as these are thicker.

Just fitted a set of F650gs (twin) mirrors and they fit with the old 8mm clamps. Much better than the old style with no vibrations!!:D

re dakar

hi rc mad
like your bike mate but what forks does it have also any improvement from std ones.
p.s. jona your bike also looks nice may have to invest in some of those mirrors.
best regards Ronnie. :beerjug:

I need to see those forks :D

Those mirrors remind me of my wifes folding powder mirror in her handbag .. ie - FOR GIRLS :hide

Forks are from a yamaha yz426 off roader, they have been resprung and revalved to suit the bike and my weight.

Are they better than stock, bloody too right they are :D
