As this dogs breakfast of a BMW is slowly being recommissioned into a functional machine, I have a somewhat strange feeling the bars may be bent, so, does anyone have a straight of bars I could buy or borrow just to check mine out. My reasons for the puzzle is that the LHS grip, mirror & clutch lever will not match the RHS. It feels OK but I have a paranoia about it now.

A good time to fit a set of renthals , chuck the OE pair over next doors fence. ;)

Use Renthal bar ends, if you feel you need weights stick some lead shot in the bars in a bag then put the bar ends on.

Renthal fatbars on mine. I've also kept the heated grips. Never bothered with end weights and haven't missed them. The added bonus is they weigh a tenth of the iron girder BMW installs as standard.

The originals do bend really easily. A drop off the side stand is enough.

Yes Dan I suspect this is the case, tell me are any 22mm Renthal Bars OK?

Sent you a text earlier. 28mm Fatbars on mine but I'm sure you could get a similar bend in 22mm. Just make sure the clamping area and grip area is long enough.
