Just paid £300 for an Arai tour x, and BMW launch a new Enduro crash helmet that looks GOOD!

Wonder if I can persuade the wife to let me buy one??? No, I didn't think so!

Sorry, no pictures, I'm computer illigitamate!

Cheers! Dutchman, must admit it looks better on the BMW web site! Don't feel so bad now!

Will be in at Pidcocks Nottingham March/April 06, cost is £250.

& they come in some good colours, I've got my name on a matt black & white.

Cheer up, it'll probably be a freak fit like those summer ones with the mesh in, that seem to bear absolutley no resemblence to the size/shape of the rest of the range.

Does it have the inbuilt dark visor (ala Schuberth and Nolan) ?
Cant ever contemplate riding without one, regardless of how 'cool' it looks.
Especially this time of year, loads of low weak sun straight in the face one second, and half a roundabout later, its all doom and gloom again (not to mention the fact that it actually turns dark as in nightime half way home each day).

It doesn't look like the peak moves up and down like the Arai. When I first got the Arai I thought that movement was a bit silly but now its invaluable. In the up postition you have a full view (don't look up at the clouds though or you will be blown backwards). The down position acts like a sun visor. No need to have dark visor with this helmet. It's just as well as there is no quick release system on the Tour X.

The BMW one looks well but I still like the Arai too much to risk changing it for something that might disappoint.

I looked at it at the helmet at the NEC last year, and I thought that the visor and its operation were poor. There seemed to be alot of flex in the visor when it was moved, and it irritatingly would'nt close tight against the seal. May have just been the prototype / display / pre-release model, blah! :mmmm I would probably still get the Arai.
