Dangerous ground, wadya think?

Feckin hideous, that. Which is saying something when it's hideous compared to a GS.

There's already a thread about Chinese knock-offs why start a new one?
Must have missed that one, where is it? :D Sorry

Personally I think the tank is to small and the exhaust can kooks like a whale. The shaft drive reliability claims look to be good though, I've had some good reliability feed back from some high mileage Triumph owners. I've personally had 3 triple cylinder bikes that have been by far the smoothest engine config I've ever rode and for me on long distance touring 'smooth' is far less tiring.
The long service interval also looks to be a great bonus compared to BMW.

Me likey.
I'm all up for a choice of excellent machines, and the more manufacturers involved the better.
:beerjug:

If I was to change my 1150ADV for "something else" I'd certainly take a closer look at one of these. The only thing against it for me is the tank size...rural france on a sunday morning can be a worrying experience...

I like it and think that it has the right stuff to be a serious competitor against the GS...maybe not the GSA..

Triumph ?Nah, dont think so !

Had a test ride on the Explorer the other Sunday,ok it was only for an hour but here it is,for what it's worth.Firstly let me explain that I'm not BMW officianado and have had various bikes over my lifetime, some I've fallen in love with and thought,I must have one of these no matter what it takes !

The Explorer didnt win my heart ! :(

The Engine is a peach,as you'd expect and I did own a new Sprint ST 1050 in 2005.

Ride position is good and possible for me at 5ft 10ins to get both feet on the ground.:thumb

The first few miles were spent trying to get the screen right for my height, after three trys I gave up.(Large screen option available I believe, more expense ! )

Ride itself was good but I couldnt help thinking something was missing !

When I got back I was seriously underwhelmed,it was not love at first ride !!

I stood back, looking at my GSA and the Triumph together and thought the Trump looked very bland,it was the Grey coloured one ,and everything was, grey .The Engine, the wheels the drive train, everything.

The other thing that was missing was,Character !

It is a motorcycle that is made for comfort,Touring etc, etc, but thats it,in my opinion.
It is just another Motorcycle, and it has no soul !

When I look at my Bike,I think,God you're bloody ugly,but I love ya !!

As said, this is but my opinion and I'm entitled to it,so there !!

Next up,I said I was interested to the salesperson, and asked for a price on mine.
2011 GSA with the ESA,Spots, etc, believe its the Dynamic pack !
There are loadsa other bits I've added but realise they wont make much difference when it comes to selling. It's done 8,000 miles now and had its first service.Excellent condition, tyres good etc etc.

I asked for the Triumph to be specced up with all the things I had on my GS (apart from the ESA of course, which is not available !! )

Heated Grips,extra.
Hand Protectors,extra.
Spotlights,extra.
Higher screen,extra.
Metal,rather than the standard,sump protector,extra.
Panniers,extra.

Various other bits I cant remember, but the cost inc fitting,

£14,500 !!

Mine was £12,500.

They offered me,'their side of £10,000' their side being under £10,000.

So,there you are.I'm still the proud owner of a very Ugly but lovable GS 1200 Adventure and wont be trading it in for anything else in the forseeable future.:thumb:thumb

Might have a butchers at the Honda crosstourer tho ! :blast
