Just got my datatool tracker renewal notice this morning, anyone know offhand what the subscription charge is.....

Hi mate. I pay monthly, just under £10.

I didn't have the option to do this for the first renewal, it was annual or nothing. I think that it was the same £109 as above, but I found that there was no penalty in terms of insurance without it and actually managed to get a cheaper price even without the tracker declared so I didn't bother. I wouldn't want the bike back anyway if some scrote had taken it out for a thrash and potentially crashed it etc.

And declare a 'fault' total loss to your insurer for the next 5 years?

I guess it depends on how messed up the bike is and how much unseen damage might've been done to it that would end up costing more down the road. It's a good point though.

Having looked at the website for scorpion, you can renew your license for life (for the entire time you own it) for 400 odd quid. So if you intend to keep the bike for a while, it may well be worth it. But obviously, only if you want to have your bike recovered should some scumbag nick it!

I was going to buy a bike from a subscriber on here. I drove just over 120 miles to view it when the seller told me that 'kids at the school' he worked at broke the steering lock - no mention beforehand. Anyhow, after the viewing and agreeing a price, he decided he was unhappy with the offer he made me (true), so I decided to check his posts on here.

It turns out that his bike was stolen (hence broken steering lock) and the bike dumped just around the corner - with the seats missing, after the thieves searched for the tracker.

Result was that the bike was recovered a short while later, after being stolen and the only loss was the seats missing (hence the wanted post on here for seats) and the broken steering lock - probably not much more than £1,000 to repair.

I'd suck that up after my bike was stolen.

Pls could you PM the name of the seller so I can put them on my list !

I was so sorely tempted to publish the details after he fcuked me about, but what would it achieve?

I got the feeling it was not his decision, but his wife's...

Funnily enough, just checked his profile and he was still checking in this evening.

It would achieve me not dealing with him. I have a list of people not to deal with. A heads up on dishonourable conduct always appreciated.
