I just read a post on the net saying there is to be a Dave's day rally around Cumbria/north west area.
So I come on here to see if anyone new owt.

Has anyone any info please??

Quick google shows Twitter feed from his wife saying a day is being planned and more info in the next 24/48 hours 👍👍

Joined in with this today at J24 M6 for a few junctions on my way to Preston. Lots of people on bridges waving as we went by.

I went along, wasn't sure what to expect but I went up to meet a local bike club at Southwaite Services just south of Carlisle to see around 1000 bikes there, There was a bit of a wait as requested by the Police, who were fantastic all day long, the police escorted us out onto the motorway and we rode down to just south of Burton services then around the round about onto the north bound M6 to meet the main ride at Burton services south of Kendal. Every bridge going south had people on it and the ones south of J36 must have had around 200 people on each bridge waving.
I followed the ride up to J36 then onto the A590, every layby was packed as was all the bridges. Mile after mile of bikes, I peeled off and headed home by Kendal and whilst not the most exciting ride it was something to see and be a part of.
Have a look on the Dave Day facebook page to see the pics

I didn't take part in the ride as I was on duty, on a liveried bike, for North West Blood Bikes Lancs & Lakes. However, between runs I was able to pop home for lunch and then go up to the motorway bridge just up the road from my house (M6 J.34).
I was gobsmacked by how many people were on the bridge, the parked cars either side were causing a major headache for passing traffic.
Seeing the bikes pass was amazing. They came through in batches of a few hundred, I believe they were being released in batches by the Police further South to reduce congestion.

I did get the chance to join some of the late arrivals for part of their run. shortly after the bulk of the riders had passed through I got a call to take items from Lancaster to Kendal, people were still lining the bridges, but the numbers had greatly reduced.
At Burton Services the first lane was still coned off to allow bikes to enter and leave the services safely.
The exit at junction 36 had a tail back of over 2 miles in lane 1, this was a couple of hours after the bulk of riders had passed through, so God knows what it was like earlier.
