David Knight - Will he do it ?

Those that doubt Knighters will to win usually end up with egg on their faces.

The guy is a born winner with true grit to get the best from the Beemer, just wait and see.

I understand Knighter got a serious bang on the head on day one and had clutch problems on day two. I note that he also had clutch problems at the Tough One.

I also think the BM has a new frame (not sure why) - wonder if I get one under warranty ?

I guess now the title is all but lost they will focus on developing the bike. Me thinks they set the bar too high so people think the bike is rubbish if they don't win.

I still love mine....

Met a couple of blokes at the weekend who both have a new Honda CRF 450x. They both agree the build quality on the BM is much better than the Honda (apart from the side stand - and handguards that fall off if you look at the wrong way).

I would imagine the frame is to make the bike turn better.

I haven't a doubt that DK will blast the KTM's at some point this year :D

and from knighter himself (knighter net)

Well just home from Italy and another bad weekend for the team! We said we wanted a challenge, and thats certinaly what we got, thats for sure, but I guess things can only improve, I gotta try to laugh about it, cos their aint nothing we can do about it in the very near future, cos things take time to figure out and put right. Anyway people who know what they are talking about understand , then u get idiots that think they do, and think Juha, Marko and myself have forgotten how to ride a bike, or we are to old, or some crap!!! Hahaha, does make me laugh! funny how we all turned shit overnight! We will have the last laugh and shut the buggers up, that is for sure, and other than that, not much in the wec has changed to much! Catch u later, Knighter

love the sentince in red, i'm confidend

when ktm came with the pds poeple thought the were crazy.....
bmw will solve the problems.

But on the other hand, only the very best of the best will feel the limits of a product because the go beyond the limits. I and a lot of other people who are not the best of the best will never reach the limits and experience the defaults of the limits, So we can ride ad have lots of fun with oure bmw!

wec Finland E2: 2d place Juha and 5th Simo.
E3: not so good 8th place MArko T an Divid knight..QOute: Note that David KNIGHT (GB-BMW), always in lack of confidence with his motorbike, decided to give up.

tomorrow day 2

day 2 and again 2d place for Juha inde the E2
but what's happening with knighter? qoute: If David KNIGHT (GB-BMW) always in lack of confidence with his motorbike preferred not to start,

The presence of David KNIGHT in the Grand Prix of SLOVAKIA is very uncertain… His premature abandonment in Finland on Saturday and his renunciation of the Sunday proves that the divorce is imminent between BMW and KNIGHTER… But the rider of the ISLAND of MAN could very quickly re-appear under other colours in order to try to prove that he is always at the top.

what to think about that.

I have heard that Kawasaki is trying to buy him out of his current contract with BMW

More like DK will be riding ORANGE again at the next GBXC round :thumb

In his column in Trail Biker Magazine he said quite early on this year that the championship was out of his sight due to reliability issues so he realistically has no chance at all now.................. top rider though:beerjug:

The BMW Enduro bike must be ............. (think Aprillia RXV 550).................if they thrown the best rider in the world at it and all the parts/resources known to BMW

They've changed the suspension to WP, modded the engines to 480cc+ and altered the frame and still it won't go

G540X must be very uncompetitive in WEC terms (bit like giving him a DRZ400 and expecting him to win the E3 WEC.... with a 30hp deficit and a 40kg weight penalty:augie)

That'll help G450X sales, no end:blast

Rumour is that he'll ride for Kawasaki till the end of the season.

Would be nice to see him on the new Berg...:)

in the german enduro magazine bmw says.

in the crosscountry series in Germany and Austria the g450x was chanpoion in 2008 with simmo kirrsi.
In a cross cou ntry the ridej for hours at 98/99 procent.
In the WEC there are specialswhere they ridfe 120 procent and in that top (over te top)speed the bike feels unstable. Juha seems every race better and better but knight cant get used to it.

They diddn,t made the g450x into a 480x to compete more, but to enter the E3 >450cc class mr johhny bpxer just like ktm have a 450 exc and a 530 exc to compete in 2 classes rather then 1 class. The ktm wich the factory guys race have very very very different suspensio then that are on the production bike we buy, even frame is some time alterd and motor manegmend, every brand has very different facoru bike then production bike, dont forget that you make it sound like only bmw does it.....

juha salimen makes better time every race last wec in finland 2 time 2de place so it competitive...... only the E3 class bike gave diffelcies.....

for us lesser gods its doesnt matter if we ride drz ktm bmw all these bike are good enough. Even David knight did very well in the brittisch enduro and had a win and in the spanisch enduro the did very wel, but on that top level where only the very very topgods compete there are speeds that we will never reach and there is were the bike feels/felt unstable, but as mentioned before, juha salimen goes better and better every race.

SO next week will be interesting
After bmw wins the redbullromaniacs, next week is the forelast WEC race.
David knight will be o the kawasaki.
Very curious if he rides inthe E3 or E2 class.
I hope in the E2 class.
I wonder how it ends.
