Dawn to Dusk....

That's alright sniffy - I'm pretty sure I'm out of my depth too! But we will get a weekend organised and get some practice in. Perhaps try to set up a 15/20 mile lap somewhere and run it without stopping :thumb2

If you fancy a trip up north I think you can ride the langdale forest, their is a 120 mile loop for bigger bikes...... I know some tosser have booked a trip already but might be good the 4 of use to have training sesson and get together?

You weren't wrong about being up North - that's fecking miles away!! But I'm hoping to be there for the Ryedale - perhaps we could stay a day longer and get some practice

I'm also happy to host some quarry training just outside Cheltenham and will def get a weekend in Wales organised.

We have a new start area for this years Rydale Rally With a much better camping field and also a hog roast on saturday night. We also hope to have some new going in Wykham Forest so a longer lap for Saturday,if any of the HP2 D to D Team want to enter we will make sure you get consecutive numbers.

Ditto can't do mid May but up for anything after that. I live out in Essex so fair old trek where ever I go. Let me know the details for the Wales weekend.

I am going to have to hire a LWB transit to get the bike up there.

Richie would you be interested in sharing a van for the weekend? We can stick both HP2's in there and save some costs because I was thinking of trailering the bike up. My missus and little un will travel up by car and bring food and some camping stuff.

Mav stop posting things like that your not helping!!!!!! Now I do think I am out of my depth..... lets pray for sunshine!!!

Sniffy welcome to my world :pullface :pullface

I am going there for a first time and hoping to have lots of fun and certainly will ride like always within my limits. My bike is my every day commute so quite important for me not to go there and trash the hell out of it :eek I think we all in a similar position so let's go for the fun factor :beerjug:

Mate of mine kindly giving me use of his 18" rear wheel he had made for his 1200GS last year. What tyres would you guys suggest to go on that. I want something that grips like a tractor wheel :D

FF to 2 min 33 seconds and you'll see me an the Airhead taking a gentle pace through the water.

Most people camp - top tip pitch next to David's caravan and you'll get tea in the morning :thumb

D2D

Right. I think i have an idea of whats going on:confused:
Sniffy
Maverick
Mav
Phillgunn(?)

Is this the line up?

Maverick.....sharing a van is good idea. We'll sort the logistics at a later date.

The Ryedale....fcuk it! Why not? It was either that or Bakermans Hogroast, which is the same weekend, and i think i need the practice more than i need a pig roll and a beer!

If anyone not doing the Ryedale, suggest we meet up with Mav for a days 'familiarisation', if that offer is still on.

Is Lo Iq still up for spannering and tending the BBQ?

Anything i missed?

I am planning of poping in and helping with the BBQ..

I'm sure I can do the BBQ and help open bottles of beer at the D2D :D

might not be able to make the other event need to look at my diary

OK guys we need to get some momentum behind this as time is getting on. Everyone I have spoken to that has done the D2D says it well be hard on a HP2.

So lets get some dates sorted to meet up to practice or enter events.

Cheers

Gunner

Might be able to do one day the saturday as I am booked on a supermoto day that weekend.

Also I might be helping with the event as I belong to YEC....

Lets get it sorted

This years Rydale should have a longer lap on day one so it should mean less laps of langdale and more mileage in Wykham. As i said before we can make sure you all start off together, also we have a new start area better for camping and a hog roast planed for Saturday night.
Dont wory Sniffy we will let you ride if you want also some people just do one day.

hi mate,

Thanks for that! will get my entry sent in to Andrew.

Let me know if you have any trail rides planned in the north or need any help setting up the course before the event.

Hi guys,

I have come to the conclusion this weekend that the D2D is not for me this year purely the fact that I am unfit and totally unexperienced to do a rally of this caliber yet.

We did a few green lanes on Sunday and they were dry and not technical at all which made me realise that I am out of shape and training to do offroad. There is a very good chance of me still going with my camera and telephoto lens doing some photography of the event and happy to assist with BBQ's, mechanical stuff etc :thumb2

Unfortunately with a 4 month old baby boy the chances of getting the training in the next 3 months is virtually impossible. I have however commited to do a full enduro season in 2010 :blast :D

Those who are still going hope to meet up there and best of luck :beerjug:

I am sorry to say the cold hand of Recession and Job Loss was placed on my shoulder on Wednesday and subject to me getting a meaningfull means of employment , I will have to pull

Hi Guys,

Why dont we aim for 2010? Spend the time until then meeting up every few months and riding/training and getting as much time offroad as we can.

Enter a few rallys on the HP2's and if you have another bike try a few Hare & Hounds and enduros?

Ryedale trust me its the best event you'll ever do on an HP2 in the UK :clap

You've been given the heads up on one of the best events the UK has to offer and your looking to do the Dawn till dusk an event set out for pogos not 1200cc beasts like you guys ride :augie

Your either brave or fooking stupid or super talented like Gunner:D

I already discussed this with the missus and want to do a full enduro season next year. With the little un and lack of time at the moment 2009 is just logistically not right for me.

I am

enough to attempt it but will end up broken both me and bike :blast :D
