My marathon class entry has just been accepted and I'll be riding this... Now as this will be my first offroad event I'd better start training and planning.

What tyres.... MT21's maybe?

Should I be doing this for charity?

I am planning to be a spectator on the Sunday:Motomartin

But if you think that I could help you chaps with anything just let me know:thumb2

Do you know if there's camping available?

Cheers

You can camp on the site, no water just porta bogs...that'll be nice!! (not sure if that also means spectators)

I'm sure we could use some help

To the other entratnts: Any thoughts on shared logistics?

Got an e-mail from Nick Plumb (hells teeth I never thought I'd ever be able to say that).
Camping's not a problem but he says that the ground is very hard....that'll be spare tent pegs and a large hammer then:D

Cheers
Russ

This I've got to see :D

Last time I did the DtoD it was on a KTM 450 and that was 'ard enough, but on that........:blast

Think I will have to come and watch this !!!:D :D

You know what, I'd be tempted to make up a team. So we could ride round and have a good larf at the KTM superdooper machine! :D

Team Norfolk & Chance

Sent off forms today for three of us sharing an XR400R. Planning to camp Saturday night and hotel Sunday. We won't be jetting off to Dubai for training--our objective is merely to last the day out. 12 hours, 3 riders = 4 hours each. Easy peasy??? Maybe not.

Haven't a clue what it's all about, there will be lots of questions of the ilk, "Do we bring our own petrol?" Happy to share resources with other teams if that makes sense.

When I last did the D2D, there were three of us and we each did a lap then came in for the next rider to go out and do his lap. This gave about 1 hr 30 mins to rest before it was your turn to go again. Was still knackered at the end of the day though :blast It's a VERY tough lap of about 16 to 18 miles, VERY steep hills to climb and go down. Plus there are real racers who will be barging you out of the way.

You need to bring ALL your own petrol and spares, plus you need one of those plastic frame things that people put up in the back garden to shade your pit area, or keep the rain off.

The pit area is rock hard so you will also need something to sit on and something to stop your frame thing blowing away in the wind.

Geoff and Matt

If you are serious I could be tempted to make up a team "UKGSer TOSSERS". Three bikes, three team members.

Hi

I am interested in this but would like to do it as a part of a team of about 3.

I will do it either on a HP2 or an XR400

Anyone interested in making a team with me drop me a PM as i will need to book time off work V soon

Kind regards

Mark

I'm booked to be elsewhere this day, but I might try to rearrange so that I can spectate. I'll be worth it to see Super Enduro R struggling with his punctures!

:D
