I missed that bit, sent my second pair a few weeks back. Didn’t even mail them pics, just boxed up, added their form and sent them. They did seem to get stuck in customs fora while but turned up the day after I’d checked with them. They’re now done and are heading back. Personally I’d just send them, can’t see how they can refuse once they arrive at there factory.
The more I think about that statement the more it doesn’t make sense. How would they have anything to do with customs? The carrier does customs. Or at least when I checked tracking on my second pairs whereabouts it stated they were in german customs. The next day they arrived. Now being under £150 theres no tax to pay on their return, but surely it’ll be the carrier that collects any tax if it were over that? Sounds to me that they’re just deflecting blame, more likely they just don’t want to repair old spec boots, they pretty much said so with my first pair, and want to use their agents to weed out the old ones before they’re sent. Odd that they carry the old spec pattern of soles though.
