Finally I have decided to replace my boots after:-

12 years
150,000 miles of riding in all weathers
almost 2,000 miles of walking (from parking to work, amazingly comfortable to walk in)
Heels worn through, LH sole now virtually "treadless"
Leather almost cracked through on both boots behind the toe-cover rubber (which stops me getting them re-soled)

BUT regular dosing of dubbin (I know, not recommended by the purist)
All zips still perfect
STILL completely waterproof......

I know that there are cheaper boots out there, but for comfort, longevity and continued protection, at an overall average cost of about £25 per year, can you beat it?

Anyone done better with these or other boots??

What I am I going to replace them with? Guess what!! - another pair.

yep I have a pair from 1996, when I did my bike course and I have had them re waterproofed with a new goretex membrane, had a leather panel replaced on one but other than that they have been great. they virtualy rebuild each boot for £50 so no complants.

Mine leaked after a year and also stretched and became loose.
Got rid and got some Oxtar Infinity boots over a decade ago.
Never leaked a drop, still in very good nick and will replace with same again, though Oxtar became TCX.

I've had a pair of the Daytona Trans Open GTX for 5 years......they've been faultless.

I proof them twice a year with Nikwax Waterproofing Wax for leather (squeezey black cream wax) and they look/perform like new.

Awesome boots - had mine for 9 years now and just can't seem to wear them out enough to justify a replacement pair. Definitely the best boots out there by a mile.

Had mine around nine years too , never leaked at all I paid around £250 for then also . I do tend to get cold feet , this I don't think is related to the boots though. They are still going strong and will prob do for a few more years yet ....having said that I've not walked 2000 miles in them !!

20 years out of mine. Never leaked and comfy like a pair of slippers. Just had them re-soled and reconditioned by Daytona and they've come back looking like new :thumb2

I managed to buy a pair of nearly new Sidi Adventure boots for £20. Ive worn them for 2 yrs now so even if they fail tomorrow I can't complain. The bloke I bought my GSA from gave them to me for free as I was leaving, saying they were no use to him now. I didn't want to take them for free so gave him £20 which was all I had in my wallet. It wasn't till I got home that I realised how much they actually cost.

This has to be up there with the best bargains I have ever heard of!!!

£19 round our way :D

Daytona .... not just for Christmas, but for life :D

Wouldn't consider anything else :thumb

The Sport Easy are discontinued. I would love a pair, the are a nicer looking boot than their replacement.
