Hey......
New to the Forum.....Hi all .....
Have now 1000k's on my HP2 and must say......The power is OK
but when I rev it a little now and then it's not as earth shatterind as described in some of the Test's/Reviews ....thought their would be more....Wheelstanding grunt through the lower gears....

Have been kind to it as I am still running it in...but the Power is
.......well......is their restricters that have to be removed...?

Like to do a wheelstand on my bikes now and then........is it the drive shaft that takes a different technique...? or do I need to grow bigger Balls and rev harder,,,?

oh and compress the forks before the lift - is comes up nice and easy

Just don't have any probs lifting the front on my other bikes .....
Happy with the Beast.....just expected it to rip my arms out of my sockets
when twisting the throttle in the lower gears.......from reading all the test's

Well....had a Ducati FE (900cc) same weight less power...would mono in the first 3 gears......????Starting to think that it is the shaft drive that makes it harder to mono.......

Love the Looks....Design....Finish...and love Boxer motors......Have another HP2 that I will turn into a full MX Beast.....Excel wheels with Full Knobs and will go with WP Forks ....etc.......

Its more the geometry than the power with a longer wheel base than a ducati and even a GS the weight hangs forward.
This means it takes technique to lift the front end.
Having added the airfilter and exhaust the bike runs a little hotter due to the lean settings from BMW but at mid range the bike has that arm wrenching go that you normaly only experience from superbikes.
If you look at the specs the standard HP2 the 0-60mph of 3.1 secs is the same as an R1.
 
Yea......will post pics of the MX Project....just looking at the wheels...
Touratech has a set ready to fit...Excel 18" and 21"...trying to get a price tomorow...if it's to costly I may relace the std with Excel rims...as I have the Motard wheels for both Bikes....(just a good buy at $1400 a pair....)


So it may take a while before I post the first pics...but I will be happy to ...

In first and over the tank it will mono off the throttle, 2nd and third are a matter of where u are sitting. If u are too far over the tank it wont happen but put your butt in a normal seating position or back further and u will notice a considerable difference, especially with race system and k&n

I reckon you need bigger knackers Lotus.
The bike comes up easy.

In 2nd gear at 80kmh I just back off then quickly open the throttle fully and up it comes. Dont need to touch the clutch either. I can lift in 3rd too, but its a bit harder.
 
Yea.....Know what they say but....Size not everything.....

Will try harder when I get a few more k's on it....

Mines stock apart from a Remus system on it.Bang it wide open in any of the first three gears,and you're over the back,like it or not if you're not ready for it.One of my friends had a go on mine,and said it was really nice,apart from the fact it tried to throw him over the back,or rip the bars out of his hands every time he wound it up a bit.

I'm not sure,but I think there's more torque on the HP2 than just about anything else,and it's there all the time as well(ZZR14,Busa,some harleys and goldwings excepted,but they're all crap in the mud)

Go and try again(and keep us posted on the other one as well:thumb2 )

my wife could mono that thing......

Have to mention. Im also from Melbourne, born and bread (but living in UK).
I will be back on the hp2 so we WILL meet up. Just one thing, dont let those sissy boys from Sydney wind u up.
Oh 2nd thing. Not all pommies are whingers or warm beer drinkers (ktm520 is), but tickle and a some others arent. Actually Tickle aint human. Dont listen to him.
