Hi,I have a problem with my 550.
As i was going round Elan valley today the screen went blank and it wont turn on again.
Any ideas? please.
It is less than 12 months old,but i dont have any paper work as i bought it with the bike off my friend who went back to the merchant navy.
 
If resseting doesnt work take the battery out and put it back in again, worked on mine.:thumb2
PS.back up may be needed first.
 
mine does this regurlarly, have to take the battery out, anyone any ideas why this happens? Seems to be whenever its powered from the bike and the power is switched off, it asks to keep going on battery - if left and it shuts down sometimes wont restart when power put on again?

try holding bottom right corner of the screen and push the power button this should power the unit up and let you do a master reset.

Never worry about the fact you have no receipt....... try ringing Garmin anyway... I was shocked at how good their service was this week. Just got a replacement unit from them today for my 2nd hand Zumo 400.

Bought a 2nd hand zumo 400 on ebay in August.... £120 or £140 from memory. It crashed on me 2 weeks ago.

Phoned Garmin 24th November, hoping to get it refurbished..... guessing it's gonna cost me £115 or so from the info I found on the net.

Phoned them up, gave serial number.... guy asks if I have a receipt. Told him just a paypal receipt from the bike dealer on ebay. (didn't mention it was second hand, but wasn't asked)

Garmin said, don't worry about the receipt... we can see it was first activated 18 months ago..... here's a reference number... return it for a refurbished unit.

Today, 3 days later I received, what appears to be a brand new unit..... All free of charge! Now, that's what I call service
