have used autocom very successfully for several years now, with garmin 2610, mp3 player and walky talkys ....
problem I have now is that volume for the garmin 2610 is ear splittingly loud!and yet the music and radios "play" at acceptable levels
I have turned down vol slider to 1 on 2610, turned down vol on autocom this does not affect the gps vol (OW!)
turning the vols down has reduc ed the music/radio vols but not the gps vol???

any suggested soltuions gratefully accepted

ps
autocom is quite old now but works very well so for use it gets don't really want to change it

Buy an in-line volume control from Maplin - i had to buy one whe I started to use in-ear monitors. The amplifiers on the older Garmin units are a lot more powerful than on the Zumo units, it would appear.

Or do it the safe way and return your system bakc to us and allow for us to modify your system. We can lower the incoming volume levels to suit your needs, this would be the OFFICIAL way of doing this and NOT running the connections into different sockets or inline volume controls.

hi rich m8, thanks for introducing some sanity into the proceedings, altho cant blame the chpas for trying to help!

my point was that this problem seems to have only cropped up this year, so I just wondered if there was either something I had inadvertantly changed or a fault developed....as other inputs are not affected
Taking the unit off is a posibility over the winter, what sort of cost would this entail to fix?
cheers russ

Hi Russ,

No worries at all, cost wise any circuit board is normally around £15 all depending on what is involved at the time. If over the winter time wise 2-3 working days turn around.
