So myself and my father are heading over on Sunday for 6 days for a run out round the top and and back and are going to be calling into the BMW dealership in Glasgow for a look as we are both in the market for changing

Now I'm aware of the Parks BMW dealership but I was wondering if anyone can tell me of any other bike dealerships worth stopping in at on our way back to the boat?

We aren't changing on this trip but will most likely this summer and come back over as there is a better choice and more value for money than at home here

Thanks for looking

Douglas Park Motorrad in East Kilbride is the only BMW dealership in the West of Scotland. There's also Motorrad Central in Dalkeith and John Clark BMW in Dundee. Calterdon's are in Inverness but since they're now owned by Arnold Clark, I wouldn't go near them. Other brands may be available as that organ of the British Establishment, the BBC, would say.

Yea i had seen motorrad central too and they have an RT that my dad wants to look at so its on the cards

I was just wondering if there was like a non BMW dealership that had a good rep or that would normally have used RTs, K1600s, GSAs in stock etc

cheers

Not that I can think of. John Clark's used stock here - http://www.bmwapprovedusedbikes.co.uk/bmwuk/aub/dealer_stock/?dealerID=26097&doNewSearch=1
Douglas Park's used stock here - http://www.bmwapprovedusedbikes.co.uk/bmwuk/aub/dealer_stock/0,,1260___,00.html?nextPage=0&order=5_0

If you Google "motorcycle dealers Scotland" you'll get a list of all the dealerships and most if not all will have a list of their used bikes on their websites.

Put yourselves out a little bit and have a run over to Motorrad Central in Dalkeith on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

Ecosse Honda in Dundee recently had an LC GSA in and curently have a NineRT (which I think Martin the boss has taken a liking to) Not sure what they have in their Aberdeen branches.

Jonny check out Rainbow at Sheffield

Great people and customer service certainly if I was changing I'd be looking again at Rainbow

Shaun the Owner / Dealer principle let me come down on a Monday when they're shut to collect a bike and then when there were issues with the remaining pannier (it was an auction bike) he produced a pair at a VERY reasonable price Which were snapped up immediately

I'd be very careful of who you deal with at Rainbow. There are some top notch people in there, absolutely, but there is one I'd be avoiding at all costs. If you or your Pop do end up doing a deal make sure you get everything agreed in writing or in an e-mail. :thumb2

Good luck and have a great trip.

That's a great idea too with a run round the peak district!

I think this thread has now given me more problems with decisions to make:beerjug: haha

I was over at Park's a couple of weeks ago, dropping off my bike for service. Chatted to one of your fellow Norn Iron riders who had purchased a bike from them and was picking it up after a service that day. He had phoned them up looking for an LC RT and had done a deal on the phone! Suggest you pop into Prks while you are hear and have a chat.
