Death of a GS

No it does not actually

what it says is that one can never be too careful where insurance is concerned and as they have been utter twats with this from day one and a long fight to get anything like the right value I dont blame him

As said i have seen that video many many times and other than the fall there is little if anything to criticise. No doubt over some sandwiches the collective will form an opinion.

Andy will no doubt give chapter and verse about the insurance fiasco at the appropriate time

Firstly it goes without saying that thankfully your Pal is OK, but the way this has now been portrayed is that the Bike may or may not have suffered some major failure which leaves everyone else thinking the worst until people see it, the video in the cold light of day we can then gauge hopefully what happened or form our own opinion

My GS was written off a couple of years back. No concerns whatsoever about posting footage if I had any as it would have left no doubt as to the cause and circumstances. This accident. No one else injured, only damage to other property the crash barrier, fortunately the rider is ok but the bike is fecked. Did police even attend and report? If not you have a damaged bike to examine for defects, statements from those on the ride and the photographs posted of the scene and aftermath. I would guess the only claim will be for the bike, riders gear, barrier repairs and recovery. Last 2 will be paid irrespective so total of what £12 k payout. Comprehensive insurance covers driver error accident losses. 99 % of accidents are the result of them. When is the last time you heard of a comprehensively covered rider being refused a payout even when the cause was rider error ? It may be no rider error involved here. What I can't see is any valid reason not to post the video you have mentioned. Just saying...

It isnt my Video to post It will be posted I am sure when the man himself feels it is right to do so

Does the bike still run, maybe it locked up mechanical failure ?

My thoughts too, having been flicked off an RC45 years back, with a seizure. It's a shame there is probably too much collateral damage to check it out. Did the bike have a quick shifter?

Good to hear no one injured though ....................... KEN

Rick, you are fully aware the arm chair riders and the ones that can't ride a stick up a dog arse will be in full force if you stick a video up ! So unless Andy has broad shoulders I wouldn't bother.

It will end in

So why put pictures up what story do they tell

He does have broad shoulders but he's also a very good rider (having followed him a bit!)
Can't see rider error at that speed on that bend:confused:

Perhaps we should have a "Keyboard warrior crash theory to miles per annum-ometer..."

if you take a close look at the rear tyre you can see a series of 'stripes' just off centre - was the ABS activating because of hard braking - perhaps????

PR4 do tend to have that fine line appear all on their own accord and there was no braking at all in the approach into the bend before the crash see post #21

Is there a point to analyse it?

Shite happens, we've all been close to that sort of crash at one time or another........... and mostly got away with it, luckily

Glad 'Andy' is ok and that's all that matters

It's only a bike, go order another one

Whilst the world awaits, entertain us by telling us the tale of the insurance woes.

PS When and if the video appears, it would be great to have the onboard one and any others, shot from other bikes in the hooning gaggle.

The expression you are looking for is couldn't drive a stick up a dog's arse

Ride a stick up a dog's arse sounds a bit perverse

Just saying ! :augie
