Well, I finally acquired a cheapo Quest (from Halfords) - updated it to CN8, ordered the RAM bits, but now I'm faced with a quandry. I've been using an SPIII for years. It works reliably on my GS. It's also powered & RAM-mounted. I'm used to the menus and it's also been updated to CN8.

Which one do I take on the 7-day European tour in 4 weeks?

I mean the SPIII is dependable, and is built out of kryptonite. The map's bigger. The routes are all planned, so calculation times aren't that important. But the Quest is new, and dinky.

You might ask why I bought the Quest. Well, I didn't have one, did I? And the rule is; he who gets to the end with the most toys, wins!

Get a RAM-HOL-GA15 with RAM-B-238 so it attaches onto existing arm.

If there's no 'leccy' point available to charge Quest Li-ion cell, then maybe a QPAC01-xx or QPAC04-xx may come in handy, as well.

Yeah, got a spare Garmin data pack (bought for the trip, along with the map upgrade. Daft, I know).

Have already ordered RAM-HOL-GA15, QPAC01-35 & RAM-B-238, but thanks.

Keep the SPIII, and post the Quest to me?

(I've just ordered a Quest 2, together with all the RAM bits and earphone and adaptor from Maplins, beginning to wonder whether it's all worth it....)

Put both devices on your handlebar.

Run the SP3 as a moving map with autozoom=off and all sorts of guiding nonsense, pop-ups, etc switched off. Use the Quest to provide you with driving instructions.

I'm serious! I have a 276C and I'm considering buying a 60Cx with the intention to use them both!
