Accidentally I met Hank from USA yesterday here in Chile who's also doing South-America.

His R1100GS has 440 000+miles on the clock (707 000km)!!! Engine all stock, except for plastic chain guards in the engine, one set of gearbox bearings, 4th FD main bearing from the bigger jobbys.

Makes me smile he does... all those miles. And look at that.. he still has the original 25L plastic tank fitted.
 
I also really like the blue rocker covers too, not as dark as the 1150gsa ones, i wonder if theres copyrights?:augie

maybe you're right... I seem to remember reading that the white tanks were least prone for replacement at the time...

So.. an even smaller tank.. makes a nonsense of the 'I simply can't do any kind of real distance without an ADV or TT tank' mindset.

(or is that just me being controversial again)
