Definitive answer please! Spacer yay or nay?

Space measured at factory for spacer size , so there is chance your one don't need it

My 1999 1150gs no spacer. Fitted r1100s rear wheel and needed spacer

I've got ABS on my 2002 1150GS. No spacer on mine. :nenau

This is either the epitome of German engineering and 'it'll be reet' or we have these spare parts let's use em up!
My 2002 gsa (non abs) had one, my 2001 gs (with abs ) does not

No spacer on my 2001 GS with ABS :nenau

Maybe someone left them off, over the passage of time

Having had both ABS and non ABS from new.................my definitive answer still stands

However the spacer is pesky, easily lost and I bet people left it off ABS bikes at tyre changes

I did notice that the abs sensor was 'padded' out with 3 washers which I assume wouldn't be required if there was a wheel spacer?

There's your answer.................the ABS sensor shouldn't be

Meddling incompetent previous owners

Them spacers come in different sizes , reason for spacer is for rear wheel be in line with front so not all bike need them

It's odd that the spacer isn't shown on realoem.com - how are we supposed to know if it had one/if it needs one/ what will happen if it's not there?

BMW allow up to 10mm out of alignment between front/rear wheel, so i dont think a 1mm/2mm spacer is going to make that much difference,

my 1100gs had no spacer, but i fitted alloy wheel's, the rear needed a 2mm spacer as i fitted a wider tyre than std,
