Have finally managed to update the mapping on both my Macbook and Garmin 660 to version 2013.4. But when I click on the map list in Basecamp the old version 2013.1 is still listed. Is there a way of deleting the older mapping, so that I dont use it by mistake. thanks john:)

Hi Gadget

on the 660 the latest maps should have overwritten the old ones. If you still have two sets of maps on 660 Tools, Settings, Map, Map info and then you can untick the one you don't want

In Basecamp you have to click the drop down menu to change maps so you should not pick the wrong one. Even if you do the 660 will calculate the route using the new maps.

I keep several maps on my PC and can switch between, that's how I know that openstreetmap has more accurate mapping around here than Garmin!

PS The driveshaft is in the K75 and the bike is up and running

Hi John, the map on the 660 is Ok, is just the two versions on my Mac laptop. What I have also found is that each time I close base camp down, then re open it the later2013.4 version has gone, leaving version 2013.1 and the global map (which it defaults too) the only way for me to get the later version back is to do an online map unlock. Something's wrong somewhere, it's very frustrating.

Ps Good to hear the K75 is on the road, am hoping to travel your way this year, but not sure yet. :thumb2

Garmin MapManager will show you the installed map locations, will reveal the locations in Finder and you can simply delete the old unused maps.Link for macs). Very easy. Sorry I do't know the PC link bit It'll possibly work in a similar way.

Maps (or links to them depending on your setup) are stored here
c:/ProgramData/Garmin/maps
Just delete or move the ones you don't want
