Delivery Delays of BMW kit

I have asked my local dealer to get three suits in for me to try - the Rallye 3, the Streetguard 3 and the Atlantis 4 as they only stock a very small selection in the showroom. Because I am an odd size and shape, I have decided to remortgage the house and purchase BMW stuff for the first time as they do long fitting in most of their suits. I will only be purchasing one of these, but can't quite decide on which one to get yet.

The main issue at the moment is that there is a very long manufacturing delay on some random bits - the Rallye 3 trousers are available, but no jackets anywhere in the world, the Streetguard trousers and jackets are out of stock and there is no way of telling when these will be in Germany, let alone in the UK. My dealer has said that it could be months before Germany send anything out! This doesn't sound like German efficiency to me!

Has anyone else experienced these sort of delays? Is there anyone who might know more who is directly connected to the clothing department in Germany that I could ask?

Being a cynic, I might, in your position, take it upon myself to phone round a few of the other BMW dealers and see if they have what you want. I was once told by a dealer who no longer does bikes, that BMW never took clothing back once it had been sent to a dealer, so possibly there is a reluctance to get all this stuff into stock for you to try.

But it might all have changed now.

Not one single dealer had a jacket to fit me or to even look at.
So finally just went to BMW dealer and ordered one as the stock jacket was medium,
had a 5 week wait for my Rallye 3 jacket to arrive -OK so it was a size 62, and they ran out of goretex stuff etc

'Shell at Balderstons followed up a few times for me and when it finally arrived she kindly gave me a nice 15% discount.

Even now I have been unable to find a similar sized 'competitor's jacket to compare with it.

I just bought the rally 3 from Park Lane BMW. All colours and various sizes in stock, no problems.

Mine's ready to collect

I've had a text from my dealer today telling that my replacement pro 3 jacket is in. The original has the velcro coming unstitched on the left cuff, small problem but the dealer didn't hesitate, no argument, just ordered a new one
So I've had use of one jacket, put about 1500 miles on it (150 miles or so in the pissing rain) and now I've got an even newer one to collect !

Good service, but at those prices it should be !
