New bike delivery from germany

My Dealer has said my r1250gsa has been built, and is sitting in the factory. I know it gets shipped to london for pdi... this leads to a handfull of questions.

How long does it take to ship for germany these days, also how is it done, boat or lorry, container ?.

What do they do in london. Ive ordered my bike with the sports exhaust and 719 options. Are these fitted in london, or were they fitted at the factory.

Congratulations, it should take 10-14 days to get to your dealer. My 2022 GS has all 719 options and these were factory fitted. Not sure on the exhaust, I fitted my after and saved quite a bit and still had the standard exhaust to put back on when I sell the bike.

BMW is a green, environmentally aware, company. They now push it all the way.

In the UK that would have taken a crane and twenty blokes in fluorescent vests to do.

Depends. Sometimes they put the bikes in the blender, ship them in sachets and then superglue them together at destination. Easier to transport.

Blender might be a quicker solution, currently its still not managed to make it past factory gate.

I have a question:

Do all BMW motorbikes imported into the UK, get routed through London to have their pre-delivery inspection carried out, before being forwarded onto a dealership somewhere else in the country? Or just some? Or just this one?
