There's a place on Phibsborough Rd, just past Connaught St. junction when leaving town. Did some repairs on kid's laptop. I'll dig out the name if you're interested.

I used the place in Phibsboro when the screen went on my HP. No complaints and a warranty on the repair.

How much did they charge? Screen replacement or was it the connection at the bottom where the screen hinges open closed? Reason i ask is the wife's screen is gone on her HP laptop.

Wasn't a screen replacement, hinge connection and new inverter. Can't remember exactly - it was a year ago - but something like €130. No problems since anyway.

I rang Dell yesterday and they have agreed to replace the motherboard free!
Sending a guy out to house to do it.
Out of warranty but the graphics chippy thingy is a known issue.
I got same for another one in '99. Fair enough is what I say.
