Hi I’m thinking of upgrading the auxiliary lights on my twin cam from the cheapo eBay units the bike came with to Denali D 4’s.

Am I going to run into problems just swapping the lights like for like using the existing wiring and switch already fitted to the bike, or will I need to fit relays/cansmart unit etc? I’m not bothered about dimming them at all just want to run them at full power if possible.
Cheers.

You can go many ways

If your bike has exsisting spots / driving lamps ,

your either cut the plugs off the Denali's and wire on ones to match the bike, or vice versa

likewise if you have spots wired via your own spot loom.

If you want to preset the brightness of the Denali's so 70% daylight running, 100% nighttime running,

you would need an appropriate controller module

either a Denali cansmart or Hexezcan make sure you but the right version though

they offer a few more options that are quite handy

extra brake light, flashing brake light, ability to run items with greater than 5amp current draw

indicator spot dimming, etc

I fitted Chinese LED spots to replace the standard spots and it was plug and play with no issues on my 2013 TC.

If you want to wire them in to the existing wiring, i believe the D4's should come with a pigtail connector like this that you can use.

IIRC the yellow wire is the PWM control, don't need that if you're only running power & no light output control.

I fitted a pair of these.

Nice and bright. Good beam pattern. Nice and flat. If you have lights already fitted just use the wiring from them to connect to. Similar shape to GSA spots. A little smaller but an all metal housing.
