Hi, I commute into London every day and really want to be head when I need to. I've looked at the Denali Soundbomb http://www.rg-racing.com/browsebike/BMW/R1200GS/2014/DENTTSB10000B/

+ a connector from Nippy Normans http://www.nippynormans.com/horns-and-accessories/horn-wiring-kit-for-bmw-bikes-with-can-bus-wiring

I'm struggling to find a way of mounting, I'm struggling to find and appropriate mount and so far had only found one from the U.S http://www.twistedthrottle.com/denali-horn-mount-for-bmw-r1200gs-lc-13-14

Anyone any experience in fitting one of these on a GS, any advice would be gratefully received

Thanks
Martyn

Have you bought it yet? The split sound bomb is easier to fit due to the compressor being seperate from the horn....I've got a split sound bomb on my Super Tenere...but I'm sure it'd be easier to fit on the WC as well ;)

+ 1 ....

I fitted the split one to my RT. Leave the original beeper, it has a different high pitched tone.
The pump is fitted behing the fairing on mine, best bit is to fit the horn part onto the fork leg above the mudguard. Use the cable ties provided and for added security I initially located it with double sided tape.

Hi - agree re the Split Soundbomb - I had had one for a couple of months now and am still struggling to find the best mounting solution for the compressor element. The guys at Balderston recommend removing the airbox - apparently there is a good mounting point at the stop of the fork leg area - too technical for me and too expensive to get them to do it.

I have bought a horn mounting bracket from our good friend Cymarc - its £20+ but mounts on the lower crash bar and hides the compressor neatly behind the black plastic cowl. I will mount the trumpet bit on the same mount as the original and wire up as recommended - I use a 20 amp fused relay to save me having to bugger about with in-line fuses - I put the relay under the coolant to-up door to make it accessible. The Cymarc mount was designed to mount a complete horn unit so I am sure will cope with just the compressor element.

Short story is that its not an easy fit on the GSA LC so take your time!

I did post this pic before, here it is again, it may help. The picture was taken from the left side of the bike with the left side covers removed. The air pump is mounted in between the radiator and the air inlet funnel. The plastic "trim cap" at the one end of the air pump was also removed to save space.

I fitted my one piece horn and compressor to the stock horn mounting point. I removed the double strip metal of the original horn, and tooled a length of 5mm steel with a kink in it to get the horn unit to fit in place. It seems pretty robust at the moment, but i've only had it on for a couple of weeks. Main downside is that the connectors at the bottom of the compressor unit are fairly exposed to rain and splatter. I intend to create some form of sealed wrap. However, my mount is no more exposed than the image above. My point is that a single unit is fairly easy to mount, all you need to do is remove the OEM horn mounting double bars and machine a chunky and kinked bit of steel to replace it.
