Dent 2016 ..... Friday 20th - Sunday 22nd May

Myself & Paul & Sam Vernon are coming up from Lincoln.
We intend doing the A1 to Wetherby then going via the B6164 into Knaresborough, B6165, Ripley into Pateley Bridge, B6265 into Grassington then up to Kettlewell on the B6160 skirting Hawes and finally over the top to Dent. I think.

Are you sure you'll get the car through them there little gaps between the walls:augie

Is that the quickest way to nip around Harrogate, I prefer that way in - do you chuck a left at Buckden and go via Hubberholm

The bit from Poole to the A59 is a Nice bit of road and Yes I think its the best way to avoid Harrogate and the ride over Gale rig down into Hawes does it for me !

As an alternative from Hawes go down the spanking fast Ribblehead road before hanging a right to Dent ( you did that bit last year )

I'm off to Alt-Berg in Richmond first and then will come out on Slee Gill and ride the minor roads past Bellerby to Redmire and Hawes and in that way on the B6255. Having said that the Cam High Road and Pennine Way looks interesting, any feedback, especially the Gearstones end that looks like it may be just a track?
It is a track, will be doing it as part of my ride on Saturday. But the Gearstones end is not a byway anymore. And they lock the gates.

Tim you could try this ! It is my route to Skipton for the most part and then part of my oft ridden route round the dales
Nice roads ! If you want the GPX file i can e mail it !

Thanx Rick, I know that route relatively well. Paul & I will have a chat about it then Sam will tell us what we're doing. :thumb2

Twat! :D

One chip shop plus one Chinese carry-out, one Indian carry-out, 2 McDonalds, 6 Subways, 3 Burger Kings and a partridge in a pear tree.

You've either met Mr Bear or you are a good judge of character based upon his postings :D

I see there are gates around Malham Tarn, are these normally left open?

Checked with the George and Dragon, their TV (big screen but not that big) not hooked up to Skye or BT but runs through the Internet. We can watch the MotoGP On Sunday if we can find it :thumb

Anyone any knowledge?

It will probably be hung on the wall somewhere Micky, most pubs do that with their TV's.

In fact I've only gone and bloody found it, its the big rectangular black thing on the wall...

You'll need an account with MotoGP to watch live.

If only someone was attending that had one :augie

Based on the way today's weather forecast turned out, I'm bringing factor 50 and water wings....we seem to be in a very unpredictable weather thingy.
Rain and a high of 8c was forecast here.... and there were a few spots but it was 10 degrees warmer and sunny/cloudy all day...

Taking on fluids.

Went for my Yellow Fever inoculation today but i refused when they told me it would make me ill for a while and I wouldn't be able to ride my bike. Not sure if I should have had some jabs for spending a weekend with a group of tossers?
