Dent 2016 ..... Friday 20th - Sunday 22nd May

Setting off from Sheffield Friday at 6.30 pm will attempt the coal road on approach as last year but this time in the dark:eek: hopefully arriving 10 ish. Room in Sun inn booked. Both looking forward to the Dent Do again:bounce1:bounce1:bounce1
Whatever the weather:thumby:

Good one Andrew .... ride safe and see you both there :thumby:

:beerjug:

Room share for a friend?

I know someone looking for an upgrade from the swamp site if there is a spare bed anywhere. Sorry but he definitely requires a spare - not interested in sharing a double :D .:beerjug:

Bike panniers all packed awaiting their inaugural outing, tent lashed across the top with rain cover over it and the bike is fuelled and patiently sitting in the garage waiting for me to breath life into the boxer's cylinders and twist the throttle...., the alarm is already set for 6am tomorrow for setting off to Dent....

so to top off the excitement at 8am this morning i have to cancel - the trip is off!!!

Gutted, annoyed, and a lot expletives aired. Thanks to Micky for organising everything, (of course the raffle prize still stands Micky), and to Paul and Andy for the ride that would have been... maybe next year.. Have a great weekend everyone.

Oh dear .... sorry to hear this Simon

Thanks for the raffle prize again ... we'll miss ya for sure.

Is there anyone actually in Dent today who can ask the locals what weather forecast they predict for the weekend ?;)

I'm there, been here a few days. Rain later today, maybe tomorrow. Saturday Sunday better ... and that's all you get. It does what it wants in Dentdale and doesn't give a sh1t about the weather forecast :D

Does the weather really make any difference ...

:beerjug:

Yes Micky, it makes all the difference. Dry outside and the bike gets a drink. Wet outside I will be doing the drinking.
It's a Win Win situation.

Is this the start of some obscure and convoluted plot aimed at the winning of another Grace cake?

Forecast for that part of Yorkshire is....

Friday - mainly dry and maybe a passing shower in afternoon, dry all afternoon

Sat - sunshine and maybe a few heavy showers (drier going east from Hawes though)

Sun - dry and sunny, all day

:clap

East is where I'm heading.

... and no, the weather doesn't make any difference, no such thing as bad weather, only bad equipment :D

See, the weather forecast was wrong, rain at three they said ... it started at two

One or two reprobates turning up ... Kev (Norm) has set up the keg of 'Death Valley' bier. By rights it should be left to settle .... ha, no chance
