Dent Guzzi meet (but open too all) 23rd-24th May 2025.

Hi folks - on the Saturday, assuming the weather's not too minging, I'm planning to hike up Whernside.

It's all just a plot designed to generate a decent thirst for Saturday evening.

If anyone's interested in that, pls just let me know.

I'd have a go at this but I don't want to bother the local mountain rescue team.
BTW, I think the top of Whernside can be seen from the pub beer garden.
Just sayin.:D🍺:beerjug:

I'll bring my binoculars we can watch his progress, trouble is after an hour or two in the beer garden we'll see two of him.

I wonder if he'll be asending the south col route. The excitement is building. :D

Meanwhile at base camp.:beer::Motomartin

Five so far for dining Saturday evening, anyone else?
Al, Stu, Steve, Old codger, Paul.

Are you coming or what? I can't stand the suspense. I promise we will not discuss politics.:D
I won't know until nearer the time Al. Bike has to get serviced next week and there's the chance of a bit of work getting in the way. The thought of bearding Margaret in her den ain't too enticing either! 50-50 at the moment.

I’m booked in at the George and Dragon Friday and Saturday nights the only meal booking I could get for both nights was 1930.
Would be great to have some company
For your info. Al couldn't get through to the George and Dragon and neither could I for a while until early this evening, bloody answer machine. The only time they had in the restaurant on Saturday night was 7.45pm which isn't too different from your booking if you want to join us.

I’m sure that will work out I’ll sort it with them when I arrive Friday thanks

OK, it’s going to me. For various reasons I’m going to bail out on this coming weekend.

For those that want an excuse, apart from me being a southerner, I’ve just completed The Coast to Coast walk and so have a bit of tiredness.
The weather forecast is shit….and I was going to camp.
On the 30th we’re off to France via Plymouth for a month long cycling trip.
Oh, and the Guzzi is all nice and clean..ish.

Sorry for being soft. I was looking forward to it but hey, I can’t do everything. ☹️
Next time hopefully.

Sorry you won’t be there - see you at the next one.👍

By the way -
Is anyone else camping?
Friday evening, what is the preferred pub for a meet up? Time?
From past experience it's been the Sun Inn. You can follow the Moffat model and join the queue outside at 5.00pm, or go for plan B and meet up in the beer garden anytime after 2.00pm.:giggle:🍺🍺🍺🍺............

So, it's a no from me I'm afraid. The bike has to go down to Dumfries tomorrow for a service and I'm going to do a couple of days checking out a few places in the south west on a loan bike with a bnb in between.

Enjoy, lads! Hopefully the weather - and Margaret - will be kind!
