If i put down a deposit now to secure an early delivery bike , and come launch day and test ride find the bike is not for me. Where do i stand on retrieving my deposit? Any expert advice out there?
I did ask the dealer and he said yes, but he would when he is trying to get my money. I just wanted to know my rights in the unlikely event i do not gel with the r1200gs wc coming from a f800gs.
I wanted one without all of the bells & whistles. I opted for cruise and topbox. In Aus, we get heated grips, handgaurds and chrome muffler standard.
My dealer told me that this bilke would be unsaleable, so instead of $1000 deposit,I had to pay $5,000. I paid it rather than the extra $3600 they wanted for the ones they're bringing in. Delivery estimated in May.

You should get your deposit money back under the consumer protection act !
Take the demo bike out for a ride then you make your mind but I can not see how it will be the deferents in the ride so look for a good reasonable excuse to yourself and not to the bikes fault
I am sure that you will love it and you will forget about deposit and everything else
Put down £500 deposit on the V Rod in 2005 ,purchase subject to test ride.Turned out to be a Royal Poo ( got an 1200RT instated ) I got my deposit back after the test ride... I had a little note/receipt ( paid by card just in case dealership went tits up, which it did a few years later) from the dealer ...
