Checking YouTube etc I see there is already a factory plug behind the screen ready for accepting a satnav so can anyone please point me in the direction of the opposite connection plug that fits this. Are there any issues to keep in mind when fitting. I’m thinking about the Evotech Garmin mount unless anyone has better experience. Any help appreciated.

The plug you talk about and provides two wires once you strip the protective plastic off it. It’s a bit fiddly though and easy to damage the wires underneath. Connect the two wires to bare wires from your sat nav and all is good. I suppose someone must supply an unwired plug of the correct dimensions to avoid having to splice wires. I just used the USB socket on the side of the display console. It is only powered on with the ignition as is the Ducati plug. My bike came with a Perun bar for mounting the sat nav which is great for my Zumo 660 custom mount or the Aoochi 6 ram style mounts.

My Rally had the connector behind the screen but nothing to plug into it. I suspect if you buy the Ducati branded Zumo XT sat nav it will be fit and play.

Already having a Zumo XT I just cut off the connector and wired the sat nav direct to the wires - worked fine for the last 5,000 miles.

I have the Nav 6 and the male connection to fit that so was going to make a short fly lead to the XT mated connector if I can find it and then it will all plug and play without chopping.

I just swapped my triumph Rally 900 for the X discovery on a whim so it’ll be interesting to see how I get on with it given how good the 900 rally is and the level of kit from heated grip/seats to everything versus less kit on a far more expensive Ducati. There isn’t a thing on the triumph that I could fault so then I question myself as to why I have done this but I’ve had lots of Ducs in the past and just love the 90° twin engine.

I've bought a zumo 660 cradle and will be wiring it straight to the battery terminals via an inline fuse for use with my nav6. It would also wire direct to the wires on the desert X afaik.
