Device registration problems

View map page, press the 3 lines on the bottom right.
Scroll down to "Trip Computer" in black and white.
Press and hold (for up to 15 secs) the D shaped thing at the top of the page - between Trip A and Trip B
Scroll down to MTP Settings
Select Mass Storage
Save.
Press back, back etc to return to the normal screen.

Start Garmin Express on your computer. Now connect it up to you computer and wait.......wait....

A file explorer window may pop up eventually complaining about a bad disc.. ignore it.

Garmin Express should eventually show a green dot against your unit.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I’ve not had a chance to try again, had a bit of an accident so will not be on a bike for while so it’s not really a priority at the moment but will have another go when things improve.

Tried again following all suggestions above, still nothing, MAC recognises the device but now Express won’t open, just get an error message. Deleted it and reloaded it still won’t open. My MAC is quite old so I am downloading an older version of the system as per Garmin instructions but it seems my MacBook still can’t run it, but strangely it did load before I deleted it and reinstalled it. I’m guessing my MacBook is too antiquated to run it, will have to try it on someone else’s with a more modern machine.

The fellow does not want updates. All he wants to do is register the device with Garmin, as belonging to him.
