Would there be any interest in a day trail riding in the Dartmoor area sometime?
Maybe sort a short route taking in some legal tracks and then a meal and a few pints at the Plume of Feathers.
Would just need to carry a sleeping bag and tooth brush if you wanted to book a bed in the bunkhouse at the end of the day.

Absolutley - count me in assuming you can accommodate the bigger bikes (I will be riding an 800GS).

I cannot make 2, 3, 23, 24, 30 and 31 July but am free the rest of my life.

Thought you were bikeless Jim???:aidan

Not anymore Rich.

What sort of trails, I cant do hardcore pogo stuff? If like pics above, I am OK for that. I am interested.:D

The BOATS east of the moor have all been done on GS's haven't they Rich! ... however I wouldn't now as some are pretty rough and steep in places. Anything upto 600 would be fine and you can make a pretty good days ride without too many miles. A couple of years ago we did a ride out from Princetown and took them in with a long lunch at a fantastic pub.

What about an 800GS?

I took a group of about 30 around the trails east of the moor a few years back, including some novices on some shiney 1200's. The first downhill was intended to sort out the wheat from the chaff and, despite a couple of drops, everyone stayed for the ride. There are one or two tricky sections, easily avoided, unless your name's Jim and you have ankles made of glass!!!:D
The ideal bike's a thumper of any size, or a lightish twin, so those of you on 800's will be fine if you're a confident rider.

Hey that has to be one of the steepest uphill rocky RUPS in Devon and I was going ok untill some silly bugger stops half way up  Took a fair few people to get that 1150 back down didn't it :D

Been out a couple of times reminding myself of a few of the tracks around here (Somerset / Devon border), SCC f*cked loads up by making them restricted byways but have found a few nice ones that make half a route.

Going to investigate a few more and then sort a route out to the east of Dartmoor.

I don't mind helping out with a route? I live on the Devon/Somerset border near jct 27 of M5 and am a member of the Devon TRF, so know all the legal trails in my area. I ride a G650X Co btw.

Cheers

That would be good and I'd be interested in meeting up sometime, showing my maps and chatting over what is and isn't legal these days. I live in Wivelisombe and I reckon I have 3/4 of a ride sorted around here and the Lowtrow Inn has a nice campsite behind.

There is also alot to the east of Dartmoor and around Ashburton I was going to look at.

I will at some point join Devon TRF.
