Gents - now I've made the decision to service my 2008 bike myself I'm wondering if you can get hold of the diagnostic tool and if they are worth the expense?
I'd like to be able to clear down the service indicator for start, and make sure I keep an eye on any underlying issues.

Cheers

Erm - you're posting in the wrong section. There are no 2008 1200GS Wasserhead bikes.
When you say "get hold of the diagnostic tool" have a search on here for GS911.

What do you need a diagnostic tool for when servicing?

Change the oil and filters, give the tyres a kick, change the back brake pads, and give everything else a good shake.
Dealers get £300 + for doing that. You do not need a diagnostic tool for that. Brake lamp failure faults go away on their own, - eventually, and there's nothing else to look at if the bike is going ok.
