I know everyone seems to have these GS911 tools but is there a cheaper alternative. I’ve got an 08 GSA with no abs. I’m unlikely to find myself on an all singing and dancing 1250 so I’m wondering if something like the obd link lx would suit my requirements. It’s mainly so I can sort and recalibrate my shit fuel level sensor and turnoff service lights when I’ve changed the oil. Other than that and maybe some basic fault finding.

Hi Sycomoto

Considering your bike is quite a bit older (K-line and CAN comms), I would actually suggest looking at getting a genuine 2nd hand, yellow unit. There are still a lot of them in the field and some guys sell them 2nd hand to subsidise purchasing a new WiFi unit. This way you get the quality of a Hex GS-911, that caters to your needs, without breaking the bank.

If you do go this route, to confirm the device is legit, request the device serial number from the seller and just confirm with us on [email protected] that it is in fact a genuine GS-911. There are clones out there, but the vast majority of these do not have a serial, and the cost next to nothing, which is a case of "it's too good to be true".

Kind regards and safe travels
