Did it overheat?

We had unbelievable traffic today, that much that bikes couldn't lane split. :augie

It was light rain and temp was only 14 celcius or something (yes for Greece this time of year this is "only").

Anyway, because of the traffic, my precious oil-air cooled boxer, lighted up ALL the temperature measure bars (but below the slightly "extended" one on top). I even smelt something cooking...

This kept for about 20-30 minutes. I hate to think what would happen if I found this kind of traffic in July (which is impossible since many people are on vacations) or August (even "more" impossible).

No problems until I arrived and no problems when I left (engine was cooled down in the mean time of course).

But is there something I SHOULD check?

I believe that the smell was coming from the road-dirt baking all over the exhaust headers. This is very usual for me when riding in the rain.

Hot clutch = smelly fish.

I've been stuck in Paris traffic in the low 30's - the worse that happened was the cam chain sounded like it was going to self destruct :D
