Diff oil

I will check when i get home but im pretty sure it does. Its made for BMW LSD’s so should be fine in the tractor final drive.

Just checked and 75w 90 is longlife lsd oil designated XO. The 75w 140 is designated XJ therefore the same stuff but higher spec AFAICT

why change the spec that BMW recommend ?
How is it better ?

Put quite simply, this is the oil i used in my previous GSA. It required this oil in 75w 90 spec in the gearbox, unlike the LC bikes. 75W 140 is a higher spec oil than 75w 90 so thats what i used in both g/box and bevel drive. So if you cross check the specs you find this is better than the OEM stuff and exceeds the specs. There is a few threads from back in the day 2014 ish it was discussed at length at the time. Im not going back into it here, suffice to say this is what i will be using when its time to change the "for life" bevel drive oil.

Taken from that video

Good info and one more important piece of information to add. Some of the gear oil does not contain a friction modifier,If you have a limited slip differential that will need to be added or costly repairs will soon show up.

My dear boy, this is Limited slip diff oil :blast

I've been changing rear bevel oils in my GS's since 2000. Always use the stuff BMW recommend. They know whats best. I always use Castrol syntrax 70W90 GL5, however id ran out and had to nip up to the dealers to get one. Its their own brand. Ridiculous expensive. But i needed it as im off away this week.
