I'm only at 700 miles and due the 1st service next week, but putting the bike away today I noticed that the right-hand header pipe (standing in front of the bike looking back at it) is going a nice blue/brown but the left pipe is as clean as the day it left the factory. This is my first boxer. Is there something about the pipe routing that would cause one pipe to discolour first, or is this something I should point out to the dealer?

Thanks. :thumb2

they all do that

Thanks Terry. Love the bike. No regrets on trading in the K1300 but suffering a bit of paranoia brought on by other people's problems. :)

No Worries mate don't read to much into what people are saying make your own mind up, its a great bike and for me the best bike ive had in 30 yrs of biking.

I like it that much that I am ordering another in the new year with the ESA as mine is the Enduro model with the standard suspension.

Pipe guidance for 1200 WC riders, part 1

Nearside pipe

The pipe nearest the hedge

The pipe on the same side as the side stand

The pipe on the same side as that lever thing that stops the engine going round, not the side with the lever thing that stops the wheels going round

The pipe on the side with the whirly wheel where you can control the sounds and make phone calls and look at a purple line on the screen thing, above the button bit that makes a beep-beep noise and the other ones that make the bright light dip up and down and the other lights flash

That's the one he means.

Love it there are some pedantic so and so's on here and I think your description will leave no doubt so well said. :thumb
the poor bloke was asking a genuine question and was obviously a bit concerned his new pride and joy was faulty.

PS do you think a description of the offside is needed in case there is still confusion :D

Terry :clap

i live in dorset and there's hedges on both sides

Anticipating this obvious potential for confusion in more rural areas (and in the blasted north, where there are no hedges or greenery of any sort) I proffered-up alternatives :thumby:
