Just wondered if anybody here knew of an LED clock that would fit in the centre cap recess. I have seen that Horning do an analogue one, but really fancy an LED one for night time if nothing else.

Failing that, is it possible to retro fit the RID? If so, is there an unused plug somewhere or would it need various senders and bits of cabling?

I've wondered the same - I think there are people who've retro-fitted them. Not sure about the wiring but there are no additional senders needed - the 850 tank contains the same gubbins as all the others so the fuel gauge would work (I know because I had my 850 tank on my 1150 for a while). And the temperature sender is shared with the Motronic so that's there too.

From my investigations of the inside of the instrument housing it looks as if you'd need a new top casing as there's no mounting facility for an RID that I can see.

If you have an 1150 you can retro fit a RID. Not sure about 1100.
The connector block sits under the front of the fuel tank.
There are at least 2 different types of RID so not all will work.
Motorworks will advise you which you need if you quote the VIN to them.
Hope this helps.

Spoke to Motorworks, basically they didin't have one in stock and advised that they would rarely get a working one in. They also suggeted that it really wasn't worth it as they are very prone to malfuntion....so back on the search for a small LED waterproof clock that will fit in the center cap well.

anyone with any ideas:nenau
