I have just acquired a 1991 R100 GS
However it came with the unwanted optional extra 'The Permanently Glowing Charge Light!!!!'
After a lot chasing of wiggly amps and head scratching I opted for the fitting of a Electrex Solid State Regulator/Diode Board.
All fired up fine and battery showing 13.5v at 1500rpm.
However!!! I have now completely removed that optional extra and get No Charge Light what so ever. I believe this to be an anomaly with fitting the new unit.
1: Is there any way of wiring in the charge light so I get advanced warning of charging faults.
