Discoloured headers

I've read about cracked headers as a result of using exhaust wrap. How many others on here have used a wrap, and has it caused any problems?

I thought that you are going to post the pic on here but anyway , there is no harm to be done to your headers specialy if you have taking off the cat
My friends in Australia there are using the exhaust wrap to some very nice expensive sport cars for years , never herd busted headers etc . Well that's way is cald exhaust wrap

I wouldn't advise using Autosol on chrome, it cleans it up, but to a dull, matt, shine. As I found out when a colleague decided to show a mate how good Autosol was on the chrome headers of my last GS whilst I popped in to his house to use the loo. That little patch he did, before I stopped him, always stood out like a sore thumb.

Well, I'll always admit when I'm wrong, and this is no exception. I don't know what my mate did on my previous GS, but today whilst cleaning the bike, and after what other posters have said about how well Autosol works on chrome, I decided to polish my chrome headers that were in a disgraceful state. It took some elbow grease but I can now say they look as good as new (well almost, I ran out of Autosol ). I now heartily recommend the use of Autosol on chrome

Yep, it works. But as soon as you fire up the engine, theyll go blue again. Mine did.

If you look on the box it says not for use on mirror finish, for that it says use autosol fine. Anyone ever seen any of that?
