Sorry if this is a dumn ass question but I've only had my beemer for less than a month and haven't needed to do anything to it.

I've just realised that the previous owner has left his optimate loom on the battery & I thought I'd be a good egg and return it.

Q - If I disconnect the battery, will I have to reset the ABS or anything like that?
And yes, I know I'll have to redo the time on the clock;)

Disconnecting the battery deletes all entries(e.g. faults, settings) stored in the motronic control untis memory.
Loss of settings can temporarily impair the operating characteritics when the engineis restarted.
Switch on the ignition
Fully open the throttle once or twice
- The motronic registers the throttle-valve positions.

There ya go. RTM.:thumb

Dont know if it has any effect as the previous respondees have a ton more experience than meself.
